The Sun

After a day shopping i have growing excitement for the next time the sun is out.... The chance to wear my sunglasses again will be a good feeling? Why? Because after years of wanting i have finally become the owner of Ray Ban "Wayfarer" sunglasses. The iconic 50's style sunglasses have been a want of mine for a long time and i have finally parted with the cash for them. A timeless style which suit any face but i think they look particularly good on mine!!

Somewhere a Clock is Ticking....

I thought i would give you an insight into my world....


Being a fashion student i seem to collect a vast amount of magazines, scraps, fabric and general junk. However, my OCD and desire for neat and clean areas often seems to stem my creativity. I'm sure my room would be less clinical looking if i could learn to "let go". At the moment though, i just can't.
Here's a little view into my room, i am guessing however, this is not a typical fashion students room....

On another note... i am missing my best friend Tiina very much! :( She is enjoying life in L.A and becoming a high flyer!! Proud of you!!

Today i visited Edinburgh with my best friend Tiina for some inspirational shopping. We are in the final stretch of our Uni year and with it comes our dreaded exam timetable. Amongst the stress, we decided we needed a day away from books, libraries, laptops and most importantly COURSEWORK! However, uni was still looming at the back of my mind and as the day progressed, with some help from Tiina, inspiration struck for my video shoot on friday (watch this space)



We laughed, ate chinese food and talked about all the things we do not have the chance to during our school day. I did not buy anything for my own personal use today but only props for Friday. So now as i write this blog i already dread the thought of returning to uni tomorrow. However, the best days are always the days spent with friends.

Rumour has it....

The last few days has been filled with uni work and constant stress about deadlines. A Buyer Specification project to complete, an Applied Management brief to complete and a High fashion Editorial to shoot. A mad few weeks ahead it seems.


My first day back to Uni yesterday after illness saw me reunited with my lovely friends. We talked, laughed and shared news of the latest goings on in my absence. Always nice to be reunited with friends!!!


As today was a lazy day consisting of going to the dentist :( eating junkfood and watching my girlcrush Tyra Banks on ANTM i did not make much effort with my outfit. So i shall share my monday outfit with you and i admit this has become my favourite ensemble of recent weeks.


A pair of camel coloured, high waisted chino trousers have been paired with a causal black and beige striped vest. This however, was hidden for most of the day under a long-sleeved black top due to the torrential weather and freezing temperatures. I wore my new favourite brown suede shoes which turned out not to be the best choice as i had to walk through numerous puddles to get to uni! My outerwear of choice today was a brown "leather-looking" gillet with a faux-fur collar. Again, maybe not the best choice as the rain does not do my hair any favours!! What a girl will do for fashion!!!!????











Tomorrow holds a "Bad Fashion Friday" at University. Large numbers of fashion students dressing badly... It should be very interesting, but one thing is for sure... We will do it in style!!!

Madness Fills My Heart And Soul

This week it was time for the much anticipated Bring Home Fashion FASHION SHOW. Focusing on the trend of up-cycling we created wonderful garments from items found in charity shops. After much success and thousands of pounds raised, the experience has finally come to an end. The first show in Galashiels was quirky and quaint with bedside lamps as Catwalk lighting and Vintage props to add some atmosphere. The Edinburgh event was a much grander affair with entertainment, auctions and a celebrity guest speaker.



I faced a mixture of feelings after the show. Relief that it was finally over, sadness because it had been a great experience, pride because all my classmates had worked so hard, but most of all - Exhaustion. The stress of the shows had taken its toll. Not before our VIP after party however. My closest friends with plenty of laughing and dancing. What more could i ask for?




I originally had dreams of stress free days after our Fashion Show, this does not seem the case however. Mountains of uni work are consuming my days and gives me one more reason to look forward to the summer.


Today's outfit drew inspiration from our Fashion Show grunge theme. Black Skinny jeans, a checkered shirt and a black leather jacket seemed the perfect combination to achieve the non-chalant image.





As the days are growing longer and the weather is growing warmer, i decided that it is time to ditch those heavy winter garments, Lighter attire may be needed now. It may be wishful thinking for the weeks to come but a girl can only dream....

Today was the start of the University fashion lookbook coming together. Two outfits from each group photographed in the style of our decade. The hard-ass attitude came through well in both our photographs and our designs. Perfect to reflect our grunge theme. Photo's to follow..

Another exciting event today was the arrival of my new IPhone4. After having a blackberry for 18months, a change was needed and this seemed to be the right direction. You could store your life inside if you needed to and i'm afraid that after only one day, i have came to realise, i can not live without my IPhone4!




Already i have acquired the Facebook app (of course), Skype to allow free chats with my dad, Scrabble for those boring lectures at Uni and of course, Angry Birds for my own amusement! What more does a girl need? 



Knowing i was receiving such a wonderful piece of technology today meant that this morning, i woke up feeling happy, which is rare these days due to fashion show stress, work stress and money worries. However, my mood clearly effected me in more ways than one. My garment choice benefited as i braved the cold in this summer outfit. 




My fabulous Topshop shorts which i can't seem to get enough of at the moment, Lady Gaga t-shirt and my bargain holdup tights. Not a combination i would usually think of but in this instance seemed to work well. Quirky and fun, exactly what's needed on these dull and rainy days!!





My t-shirt is sporting an Andy Warhol style Lady Gaga print, who i also can't get enough of and this was all worn with a leather jacket. Finished with some flower pattern high tops and the look was complete! So what do we think? Maybe i should wake up in a good mood more often?!
